We did it!!
We decided to get the true Colorado Christmas experience this year and cut down our own tree... We had so much fun that we officially decided to make this a new family tradition... Grandpy, Kevin and Crystal, Tony and I loaded up all our kiddos in the cars and drove up to Woodland Park... we pulled over to the side of the road and wandered around in the forest until we found our tree. (In the ranger designated area, of course!! :) ) What an adventure... Kevin, who turned out to be quite the experienced nature guy, pointed out piles of "stuff" left by various animals... including bears!! Despite the fear for my life and the lives of my family, we had a great time!! Haha!! :) After we chopped our tree down... yes, with an axe... we had a tailgate party with coco and Crystal's homemade goodies...
Not bad for a $10 11 foot tree, huh??
